There is an actual patron saint for persons struggling on the path of mental health, and those who help them, such as counselling therapists, psychiatrists and more. This Saint emerged in Ireland in the 7th century, in the old Christian tradition (Irish Catholic and Orthodox). She also endured great suffering herself, and embarked on her own Heroine’s Journey at age 14, taking a vow of chastity.

Mental health issues can be considered as an “archetype” or universal theme of experience. Christianity, Hinduism, and other old religions, provide us with myths, featuring archetypes who simultaneously help us with mental health issues, often by us taking inspiration from their path. Most extended families, and communities, have a member who struggles with mental health. This Irish Saint’s name is Saint Dymphna and here is her story….https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dymphna
